Last Saturday marked the 3rd Annual Class-Sick BMX BBQ sponsored by the Outsiders BMX crew and they couldn't have picked a better day to have it. The sun was out and weather was just perfect. The only thing that got in the way was the park ranger that informed them that they couldn't have an organized event like this with out proper permits. Of course I arrived fashionably late and right after the ranger encounter so I missed most of the vendors and some of the bike displays. I did however make it just in time for the bike ride around the bay and boardwalk.  

Brian A's custom Kuwahara pit bike. He chopped the frame down and made some super custom Z-Rims out of some Skyway tuffs. 

Right before the ride I was introduced to the guys that run the 4130 BMX Club in LA. They put together a subway series ride once a month and from what I've been told it's pretty cool. I'm hoping I can make it to the next one. 

Rhandy was working on grouping up everyone for the ride. 

I can't believe that people are that serious about their drinking. San Diego recently passed a law prohibiting drinking on the beach, so a couple smart alcoholics figured out that they could drink at the beach as long as their feet don't touch the sand. Get a couple cheap rafts and you have yourself a floating party. We would like to introduce you to Floatopia.The cops do their best to keep everyone in one area and in order. What a mess though...

They even instaled these crazy prison guard towers to make sure that big brother could watch over. 

After checking out the floating party we made our way to the jetty for the group photo and to begin the ride down the boardwalk.

The ride ended at our favorite look out spot just before La Jolla. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am that I live in such a beautiful city, now if we could just keep them earthquakes to a minimum. I'm already looking forward to the next bbq and the Outsiders are already planning thier event, so we'll keep you guys posted.
