This past Sunday was spent with my mom for Mother's Day. On most Sundays you can find my parents down here at the shop spending time with my sister. So this Sunday was very similar but with a slight twist. Out of the blue our POS system decided to take a crap. Of course when this happens I get called in to try and fix it. For some reason these dumb ass issues pop up at the most inconvenient times and to be honest it's super frustrating when it effects our forward progress. Turned out that we were having an issue with our internet so I tried to trace the Cat5 cable throughout the building and outside and after a few hours I was able to figure out the problem without taking the POS system outside and bashing it to pieces like in Office Space.
Once that was sorted out I thought it would be cool to treat our mom to an early dinner at Ironside Fish & Oyster Bar. This is my new favorite seafood spot and I have already made it a point to eat here at least two times a week. I'm the type of person that if I find something I like I tend to go a bit over board and this is no exception. To be honest, if I knew it wouldn't kill my bank account I would probably eat there every day. The sea food is extremely fresh and super delicious plus it's probably the best looking restaurant in San Diego in my opinion. Although I'm kinda freaked out about the idea of oysters, I eat pretty much everything else on the menu. The white rock shrimp, lobster roll, fish sandwich and fish and chips are super good and sometimes its hard to choose. They also have super rad desserts. It seemed like my parents enjoyed themselves as well.
After dinner our family took a nice stroll down the bay front to check out the water and people watch. I haven't been down here in a while and it really looks like the city is trying to modernize it. We got to see the new children's park and it looks pretty damn awesome! I wish we had junk this cool when I was a kid. You best believe I'll be coming back here on the late night to climb all over this shit.
Anyway, aside from the POS system being an asshole it was a great day spent with my mother and our family. I love Mom to death and feel blessed every day to have her and the rest of my family in my life. They are a true support system and I owe it all to them helping me pursue all my dreams, including 5&A Dime.
