This Sunday our bud's at "Sushi On A Roll" in Barrio Logan will be attempting to set a new Guinness Book of World Records for longest sushi rolling marathon, most pieces of sushi rolled (Goal: 12,000 pieces of sushi in 12 hours), and most pieces of sushi made in 2 minutes (Current record is 12). This is part of a free family friendly event with plentiful sushi, tacos, local beer, and live entertainment; all donations and proceeds go toward Team2Cure Huntington’s Race Across America fundraising efforts for the HDSA (Huntington’s Disease Society of America)
We at 5&A Dime were recently introduced to Huntington’s when we had the opportunity to meet a really awesome family who have a member with the disease. This is a very painful and debilitating disease and is passed on through genetics. Up into a few months ago we were completely unfamiliar with it, but with the help of events like this one, the hope is to raise awareness and also help find a cure.
Also, be on the look out for a special COLLABORATIVE PROJECT we did with The Travelers Club to help raise funds for the cause as well.
